>> It can be exasperating when you seem to be getting nowhere. Jon Ames has been showing speed capable of top 15, and with some luck possibly he could possibly sneak into the top 10, but seems to finish last if not near last each weekend. Jon is new to the Supercross series and racing professional is a whole new ball game for him.
Round 4 seemed to mimic the first few weekends of Ames career as a professional to a tee. The BPR Yamaha rider
got underway with a 8th place start Heat race #2 and briskly made his way safely to 6th before the checkered. @jona- mes17 got off to a mid pack start in the main event and came around lap one inside of the top 10. Ames got moved back by a few veterans of the field, in spite of that Jon held his own for much of the race. At the mid way point of the race the Yamaha rider had a 10 second slower lap time than his previous laps and lost 5 positions. Ultimately the rookie was forced to either pull over to regroup or made his way to the mechanics area to get a quick fix. Although going back on the track wouldn’t get Ames anywhere further in points, he went back out there for valuable race knowledge. Lets hope for a rejuvenated Ames at round 5.
