>> Privateer and fan favorite, Fredrik Noren, is coming into the 250 east championship with a bit more race experience on the season that the competition. Freddy has been racing a 250 on the west coast, but in the 450 class, which has allowed him to turn a bunch of laps on a real race track with real competition. His results have been subpar
but he has still gained valuable seat time for the championship he’s aligned to contend for. This led to Noren coming into the series with confidence that he could perform well. Qualifying 14th is probably not where Noren saw his day starting. He would need to find some speed somewhere to have a chance at a top 10. The heat race would also be a bit of a task as he struggled to even reach a direct qualifying posi- tion for the main. He finished 9th but ran a fast lap of 51.398 which
is fast enough to crack the top 10 in the main with a good start. The Swede would start his main event in a mid pack position. He crossed the finish line on the first lap in10th place and was primed to make a push inside the top 10. Freddy had some off camera problems and had dropped to 20th place by the 9 minute mark. This left him a short amount of time to save his night from going down the drain completely. Over the remaining 9 minutes, the Honda rider would pick off 7 rid-
ers in his pursuit of the top 10. He would come up short of that mark though as he crossed the checkered flags in 13th. For the way that the day went for Noren, he should be neither too high or too low about his performance. It could have been better, sure, but it also could have been worse. He will come into next week looking to improve upon his performance.
