JERRY ROBIN
Three years removed from a two-stroke B/C championship at The Ranch, Jerry Robin would finally climb back to the top of the podium. The hot shot from Minnesota stayed true to his roots and entered the 250 All Star A/B class at this year’s national aboard a YZ 250 two-stroke. It was a bold move going up against nearly an entire field of 250f’s but Robin was more than ready to take on the challenge and prove the doubters wrong. The opening moto of the week started off nearly perfect for Robin as he rounded the opening lap just bike lengths behind early race leader James Anderson. Robin stayed glued to the Kawasaki’s rear fender for the first few laps before throwing down a heater on lap four to finally make the pass for the lead. Robin had a decent cushion on second place rider Brandon Gourley once he took
the lead but that cushion would begin to dwindle. After each lap Robin would cling to a slimmer and slimmer lead until Gourley finally exhausted his best defensive efforts to make the pass on lap eight. From there Robin would hold onto finish a strong second putting him into title contention for the next two motos.
