CALEB WEAVER
Caleb Weaver has been rising to the top of the C class over the past year. The young rider from Texas has been reeling off wins at local races within his home state including the state championship in the
250 C Limited class to cap off 2015. Here in 2016 he has
kept the winning trend going
by finishing in the top five at
a majority of the nationals he has attended. He then broke through by winning all three 250 C classes at the South Central Loretta Lynn regional marking the best weekend of his career foreshadowing what would happen at the Ranch.
The 250 C Jr. (12-16) Limited class is always one of the wilder classes to watch at Loretta’s. This year’s championship
battle was one of the most entertaining yet. Weaver would have to fight tooth and nail every moto to keep his hopes alive. His week started off sketchy when he came around lap one buried in sixteenth place. He knew he had to move up quickly and he did just that by leap frogging to tenth place in one lap. From there he kept chipping away at the racers in front of him until he snuck into seventh place on the final lap. Not the greatest result but he knew there were still two motos left and consistency at Loretta’s can go a long way.
Weaver got a better start in
the second moto rounding lap one in eighth place. He saw opportunity in front of him and hopped up to fifth place by lap two and started throwing down smooth, solid laps. He caught Kyle White and the two would battle back and forth, swapping positions but White would be able to solidify his spot in fourth forcing Weaver to settle with fifth place. Despite going 7-5 in the first two motos, Weaver was only three points behind White, the class leader with 5-4 moto scores. He knew with a solid third moto his championship chances would be adequate.
