Bennick and Varola chased each other in the final stages of the race as they both had a bad first lap, they ended up battling to the bitter end of the moto for 10th. Bennick did set the fastest lap of the two
but was too winded to hold on for the final spot in
the top 10. Determined to bounce back in race two, Bennick came out swinging and found himself in
6th place after the first lap. Daxton got himself into
a comfortable 4th place position and it looked like that was where he was going to finish, until a late crash on the final lap for the leader Hunter Yoder, and Daxton was rewarded his only podium finish in the class. Bennick would like to forget about his final race of the day where he finished 13th and ended his chances of finishing in the top 5 overall in the class. His 11-3-13 moto scores gave him 7th overall and he is capable of much better results, the kid has some serious speed.
