With injuries leaving the Iowa native limping, but not stagnant, he chose to compete against the top
riders in the nation, going against the spread and going all in on his own luck. Open Pro Sport saw McAdoo begin the week with a silver medal performance, after a fourth place start and fierce battling amongst the elite. The second round, maybe one of his most impressive performances, saw the young man round the first lap in 25th position. Never lapsing in focus, he would remain poised, glancing at his mechanic when need be; otherwise, it was just he and the specific marks in which he yearned. He would push to an eighth place finish, and positive morale at moto’s end. The third, and final round, McAdoo wanted to reiterate the hype he had generated, and make sure that everyone knew his name at event’s end. He startled the other 39 competitors off the gate, digging into the Tennessee earth with each and every knobbie, storming to an early lead. As laps began to tick away, the Iowa Hawkeye would continue to stay out front, until a lap five fall to second, and even bigger drop on lap sixth; as a mistake would ruin his moto win aspirations. He would go on to finish sixth, and a noteworthy fourth place overall. 250 A, the mother of them all; where pro careers set right at your doorstep, yet a secure key to unbolt the lock can be rather hard to find. However, as Tony Alessi and the Motoconcepts crew have searched, the latch may have been flipped, in the name of McAdoo, as the number 81 generated support from the team throughout the week.
