Becoming a common theme, though, by the Tomac reached 2nd, Roczen had done his job and put himself out front in commanding fashion. Forced to settle for 2nd for the fifth time in eleven motos, Eli looked to moto two to turn it around. With moto two underway, this time Tomac was able to get into 2nd quickly on lap two, with only
one rider standing before him; you guessed it, Ken Roczen. Unfortunately for Eli, there was nothing he could do as the #3 green machine began to drop seconds each and every lap, sometimes in multiples, as he dropped to over 30 seconds back at the final checkered flag of the first half in 2016. Another solid result but disappointing performance for Tomac, it’s only a matter of time before he’s able to straighten out the crooked number and stand atop the podium. With the Southwick sand only seven days away, there’s six more opportunities for Eli to close the gap as the summer continues to heat up.
