Another unfortunate start to the weekend, RJ held his head high on his way to moto two, using every min- ute of moto one to re-enter a points paying position. As moto two got underway, RJ got off the gate the same way he had done earlier, buried back in 14th. Around Cunningham and Harrison in the early laps,
RJ was in 12th. As the pace quickened, RJ followed suite picking up 11th, around a fading Nick Gaines, where his momentum would halt. Once he had his made his way just outside the top ten, RJ was unable to close the distance and began feeling pressure from the hard-charging Plessinger who had gone head over wheels off the start. With only two laps to go, Hampshire was left alone in 12th where he would finish in a tie for his season worst with 15th overall. Although unable to use the momentum from the week before, the strong performance of moto two is enough to keep RJ’s head up into round seven and the start of the second half in Southwick.
