Jeremy’s morning started off decent as he turned the 5th fastest time going into the motos. The track was deep and soft from the thursday night rain and Jeremy was ready to put in some solid finishes. When the gate dropped for the first 250 Moto, the two time defending champ got off to a fantastic jump and pulled
a commanding holeshot. A hard charging older brother got the best of him early and Jeremy would follow
Alex across the line on the first lap. Jeremy was doing everything he could to maintain 2nd place. On the third lap, Osborne was able to slip by Jeremy and he was now forced to settle for 3rd place. Jeremy rode a consistent moto and was doing everything he needed to do for championship points. Then, with 2 minutes left on the timer, Alex Martin’s bike began to call it quits and Jeremy was able to capitalize on his little brother’s bike malfunction. Jeremy was now in 2nd place and charging hard. He began to see the white fender of the leader Osborne, and was putting in everything he had to catch him on the last lap. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough and he would take 2nd. Jeremy got off to another fantastic start in the second moto and was running a close 2nd place behind Adam Cianciarulo in the first couple laps. Jeremy always seems to struggle at the beginning of the motos so far in 2016 and this moto was no different. He lost positions early on to points leader Savatgy and older brother, Alex, but it seemed something else was wrong with Jeremy as he let a couple more riders by soon after. With ten minutes left on the clock, it looked as though Jeremy’s day was over. The familiar white smoke coming from his brother’s bike in the first moto, was now coming from his own machine here in moto 2. His day was cut short and valuable points were lost out of his control. Luckily, they will line up again in 7 days and Jeremy will begin to work to get back his lost points.
