Jason Anderson has shown flashes of brilliance ever since moving up to the 450 class as a 250 SX Regional Champion. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider scored a second place finish behind Ken Roczen in his very first premier class supercross, and went onto win the season opener in 2016. He’s gathered a reputation amongst the
riders as an aggressive racer and his riding style has gotten him into trouble on and off the track, but ‘El Hombre’ is one of the fan favorites for that exact same reason. Anderson has a bold personality and isn’t afraid to speak his mind which often creates entertaining scenarios for the spectators when the gate drops on Saturday night. Sometimes those moves can be beneficial to him and sometimes they end up biting him in the long run, but his determination is something that has to be admired. If Anderson is able to figure out the right opportunities to be aggressive and the right circumstances to be patient, there’s no doubt that he has the potential to fight for the title in 2018. He won two races during the 2016 season and took the victory at the hectic season finale in 2017, but he’ll have to find his way to the top step of the podium a couple

more times this coming season if he wants to be in the hunt for the championship in May. Now that he’s had a couple of years under his belt at the Bakers Factory with renowned trainer Aldon Baker, it’s time to put up or shut up for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider. He missed the end of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series due to injury, but his performances at the AUS-X Open and the Monster Energy Cup showed that everything is back where it needs to be for the rider out of New Mexico. He displayed consistency and speed in October at the MEC, scoring a trio of second place finishes behind Marvin Musquin. The AUS-X Open in Sydney provided the venue for another sensational display from the Husqvarna pilot; he battled through the pack on the opening night after a first turn spill left him at the back of the field, and he ran away with the win on the second night in order to take spoils of victory. Anderson is right where needs to be and there’s no question that he’s going to come out guns-a-blazing at Anaheim 1, just as he always does.
