>> CycleTrader Rock River Yamaha’s Tommy Hahn clocked the twentieth fastest time throughout both qualifying sessions in the afternoon preced- ing racing. He lined up on the gate for the first heat race and came out
of the first corner in about tenth position with a moderate start. He took advantage of Musquin and Anderson’s crash on the third lap in order to move up to eighth, but he didn’t make too many moves throughout the race. The Texas resident was forced to line up again in the semi in at- tempt to earn himself a spot in the main event for the second weekend in a row. Hahn put down some serious Yamaha power to the ground in the second semi race as he popped out of the gate to a top three start. He held his ground for the opening couple of laps, but around the midway point of the race he found himself in a skirmish with the #33 Kawasaki of Josh Grant. The Californian was able to put the move on Hahn, but that’s as far as he fell. The CycleTrader Rock River rider secured the transfer position and earned himself a spot straight through to the main event.
He didn’t get off to the greatest start in the main, putting him just inside the top twenty coming out of the first corner as the pack flew through the introductory rhythm section. Hahn crossed the stripe for the first time in eighteenth place with Justin Brayton ahead of him; they were both able
to get around Adam Enticknap on the first lap. Broc Tickle was making
his way through the field after some early race misfortune and he found his way past Hahn early in the race, but the Yamaha rider would not be discouraged. A couple of laps later, he was able to make the move around the Suzuki of Nick Schmidt and promote himself back to eighteenth place. He had to deal with the JGR Suzuki of Jake Weimer a couple of laps later, but a Malcolm Stewart mishap would allow him to gain back eighteenth yet again before the race was over. Hahn will be looking to continue his main event form moving toward Glendale in the coming weekend.
