>> The 7Deuce Deuce put his CRF 450 right inside the top thirty throughout both qualifying sessions just behind the San Diego main event contender
of Cade Clason. He got off to a decent start in his heat race, coming out of the first turn in thirteenth position behind fellow Honda rider, Bracken Hall. Enticknap wasn’t able to make any progress for the majority of the race as he closed out the heat in the same position as he started. Enticknap lined
up in the second semi of the evening and shot out to a decent start behind fellow privateer Jimmy Albertson. The Californian came under fire from Dean Wilson right from the get go and was forced into relinquishing seventh posi- tion in the early stages of the race. Consequently, Enticknap tightened up
his lines and put in consistent laps in order to take advantage of an Alex Ray mishap which put him seventh by the time he met the checkered flag. He took a trip to the LCQ and finally ripped the start that he needed to put him
in contention for the main event. Enticknap ended up around third position behind Joan Cros, but it only took a couple of laps for him to work past the Spaniard and into second position. At that point, Enticknap was able to mirror the performance of Friese at the front of the field and put himself in the main event for the first time this season. The Honda rider pulled a decent start in the main which put him around fifteenth position as the pack came around the finish line jump for the first time. He struggled to keep his composure and lost five positions over the course of the next lap, proving the unbelievable depth of the premier class thus far in 2017. Enticknap held onto twentieth position ahead of Ronnie Stewart and Jake Weimer, but the Suzuki duo was able to get past him within a couple of minutes. The 7Deuce Deuce ham- mered out the laps throughout the rest of the main event and ended up com- ing home in twenty-second position, grabbing some main event exposure for the first time this season.
