In heat 2, a rough start holds Alessi in
fourteenth, but he quickly moves into
thirteenth in the second lap. As the race progresses, Alessi continues to move through the pack, passing Dakota Tedder and Bryce Stewart. As the finish lag flies, Alessi holds on to tenth place, pushing him into the semis.
In the semi, Alessi comes out of the gate right behind Marvin Musquin but Jason Anderson moves quickly to pass Alessi and overtake Musquin. Alessi works
to reel in Musqin as they cross the finish for the first lap. Alessi just can’t quite catch up to Musquin but maintains his third place as Nicholas Schmidt begins to put pressure on him. Bad luck would plague Alessi again in the main event as he gets clogged in the
first turn. At the start of the second lap, Alessi chases thirteenth place. He spends several laps swapping for fourteenth and fifteenth position, eventually making his way up to thirteenth as the finish flag came out.
