Mellross- Another re- spectable night for the
Aussie finishing a hard fought 17th place in the main event. I am sure he wanted more but it was a rough night for the #72 from the beginning. After crash- ing at the start of his heat race Mellross was forced to the lcq. In the LCQ it was another Aussie rider, Luke Clout who got the holeshot with Mellross follow- ing close behind in 3rd place. Zach Bell was in 2nd most of
the LCQ until the last lap where he would crash out handing 2nd place to Mellross. Michael Leib would make a pass on the final lap to get ahead of Mellross who would push Leib wide in the last corner to secure 2nd spot and
a transfer position to the main event. Mellross would get a bad jump off the gate with his 51 Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha putting him in 16th position at the end
of lap 1. Mellross battled all the way to the checkers going from 16th to 19th throughout the race to eventually finish the night off with a 17th place finish. Expect to see Mellross in the 12th - 17th position week in and week out, possibly getting his feet wet with a top 10 if things go his way.
