>> With the Raiders franchise packing up, and setting sail to Las Vegas in the very near future, the city of Oakland is somewhat lost without their legendary grey and black identity. Known for their no-nonsense, barbaric approach of years ago, the fans of this team go hand in hand with adrenaline, controversy, and the pushing of limits. It’s an eerily similar notion to that of Supercross, with jaw-dropping antics and periods of raising the bar like none other. One of the riders involved with this progression week after week, is Kyle Chisholm. And he would look to do the same as the series moved into round number five. Pushing the pace, all throughout practice, he had to be extra careful; in the sense that there was seriously no margin for error. This Supercross layout, looked as though it had been ripped with machinery, like the AMA outdoor nationals. Luckily for him however, he’s proficient in all forms, and adapted to the track with ease. Attempting to triple-on prior to the whoops, his yearning for new heights was imminent; as many of those behind him would latch on to the brakes, and maneu- verer the section in other ways. Tracking in the mid, to low 50’s, he would be in optimal position for the night show. As the gate would fall for qualifying, the field was two, and three wide, at numerous points around the track; although the main line was apparent. Tiptoeing with speed, he would scurry around the absolute edges of raceway, chasing down Hayden Mellross. With the referee waving his flag with fury from the scorer’s tower, he would finish fifth. The main event would provide a whirlwind of sounds and chaos, the walls of the coliseum echoing the rev limiters of these monsters. Sorting himself within the midst of the field in the early-going, the blue skies of his previously sunny day seemed to be overcast with a bit of skepticism. He had to choose precisely where he wanted to go, as he would attempt the spectacular triple through line, in the rhythm lane prior to the last triple. Neck and neck with Adam Cianciarulo in the latter portion of the moto, it was as though their chassis were magnetic, and the frames attracted. It was all he could to figure out the opposition’s riddle, but to no avail, the puzzle couldn’t be solved. He would finish in eighth on the evening, but would look forward to getting back to work on Monday.
