JAKE LEWIS
Jake Lewis has recorded many consistent podium finishes throughout the first couple rounds of action in the 2017 MotoAmerica season. The Kentuckian scored his first Bazzaz Superstock 1000 win in the second
race at Road Atlanta and carried that momentum into VIR where he earned two third place finishes. The M4 Ecstar Suzuki rider sits comfortably in third place in the Superstock class standingss, only three points behind Mathew Scholtz, heading into the fourth round at Road America. He’ll be looking to mix things up at the front of the field and put the #85 on the top step of the podium for the second time this year when the racing gets underway at Road America.
Jake Lewis put on a spectacular performance in Superpole at Road America as the Kentuckian qualified as the top Superstock 1000 rider by clinching fourth overall on the grid. He established himself as the man
to beat throughout the weekend, besting multiple Superbike riders, in order to complete his best qualifying performance of the season thus far. As the lights went out on the first race of the weekend, Lewis executed a nearly perfect start from the second row of the grid -- the self proclaimed ‘Ostrich’ stuck his neck out into the first corner and momentarily sat in second position, but he was immediately overtaken headed into turn three by fellow Suzuki rider, Toni Elias. From that point forward, Lewis came under attack from a couple of YZF-R1’s that dropped him back to fifth position overall before the end of the first lap, but he still maintained a healthy advantage ahead of the rest of the Superstock 1000 competition. >>
