>> Geico Honda rider Chase Sexton lined up at Redbud ready to capitalize on his eleventh place overall finish at Muddy Creek last weekend. The rider out of La Moille, Illinois (just under three hours from Buchanan, Michigan) was no stranger to the “best dirt on earth”, and needed to show his vibrant hometown crowd what they all knew what the number 486 was capable of. Waves of red, white, and blue filled the hillside as the gates were about to drop for the first 250 moto of the day. The sun was high, the sky was blue, and the thirty-second card was out in the Great Lake State. The gates dropped and the riders went sprinting through the sandy, wide-open start straightaway and quickly filed into the rut-riddled first turn. Chase Sexton found himself off to a rough start on the rough track as he exited the high speed S-Curve in twenty-seventh place spot. Sexton was determined to use his thirty minutes wisely as he started quickly working his was through com- petitors and soon make the pass on Gaines, moving into fourteenth place and then into thirteenth place at the halfway point. With the end of the moto in sight, Chase Sexton gave it is all and flawlessly worked his way through the pack and finished moto one in the twelfth place spot. With a first moto like that, a top ten overall was definitely a possibility for Sexton as he pre- pared for the second moto. The gates fell and Chase immediately redeemed himself from his first moto start as he came out of the first turn in sixth place. Amongst the Redbud pandemonium, Sexton quickly found fourth place posi- tion: an awesome spot to be in for the rookie. With the track evolving and becoming more and more brutal, Sexton fell back to seventh by the halfway point of the moto and that is where he finished the race. With a 12-7, Chase Sexton was able to grab a spectacular ninth place overall at REDBUD!
