STILEZ ROBERTSON
MAMMOTH!
Shortly thereafter, the young Californian made a move into the lead and never looked back, laying
down a searing pace at the front of the field as he carved his way through the sprawling mountainous terrain of the Californian countryside. Robertson went onto clinch the victory ahead of Kilroy in fairly comfortable fashion, grabbing himself a championship in the process. He was looking to build off of his first day of exceptional results at the fiftieth annual running of Mammoth Motocross. The Team Green Kawasaki rider continued to contest both Supermini classes, and he was aiming to back up his top two finishes from the first day of action as the gate dropped on the second day of racing. Robertson won his heat race in the Supermini 1 class and grabbed a third place finish in the first moto of Supermini
2, putting him in prime position for the championship motos. The gate dropped on the second moto
of Supermini 2 and Robertson found himself with a mountain to climb from the very first lap -- he crossed the finish line in twenty-second position and put his head down as he began a spirited charge towards the front of the pack. In just two laps, the Team Dunlop Elite rider had worked his way all the way to eleventh place, pounding on the door of the top ten. By the time the checkered flag was flown, Robertson had carved his way all the way back to seventh position, salvaging a fourth place overall
in the class. In Supermini 1, he was able to give himself a clear track off the start as he soared into
the first corner uncontested. Robertson immediately set the fastest lap of the race and did his best to check out on the competition, but he remained under immense pressure from Dilan Schwartz. The two of them duked it out and Robertson was able to get the better of the exchange, holding onto the victory at the finish line.
