>> Privateer Dakota Alix has had a rough start to the east coast series this year. The first two races were a tough battle ending up in only top twenty positions. Therefore, Dakota Alix came to Day- tona with an urgency to do well after taking a break and not rac- ing this past weeks’ race in Toronto. With an eighth gate pick for the heat race, Alix charges out of the gate to the front of the pack. Going wide and battling for a top five position against Cartwright and Noren, Alix holds onto 4th place. Passing Cartwright in lap 3 Dakota makes the move to third place going into lap 5 of 6. Then along comes Savatgy. After dueling back and forth for third place, Savatgy makes the pass and steals the top three position from Alix. Ending heat race number one, the MTF rider is sitting pretty in fourth. Dakota transfers onto the main event with a sold gate pick. After a solid ride in his heat race Dakota gets the 8th position on the gate for the main event. Gate drops and Alix holds his line and position coming out of the holeshot still in eighth position. Los- ing two spots to Robin and Jo. Smith, Dakota pushes on driving through those deep ruts in tenth place. Falling victim to Luke Ren- zland, Dakota holds on to 11th place and tries to ward off Christian Craig who is on the hunt and trying to gain more positions. Blue Buffalo rider Jerry Robin falls behind and Alix slides into the 10th spot. Privateer Dakota Alix will cross the finish line in 10th place his best career finish this season.
