After missing the majority of the 2017 season due to injury, it was good to see Max Miller back at the rac- es. The Orange Brigade backed KTM rider eased his way back into competition, but he recently scored a handful of top five finishes at the Ryan Villopoto Amateur Motocross Cup. Miller got out of the gate to some early success in his heat races, scoring a first place finish in 125 B/C class as well as a second place re- sult in the Schoolboy 1 class. There was some stiff competition in the main events, but Miller rocketed out of the gate to advantageous starts in both races. He had a shot at winning the Schoolboy 1 main event, but a fierce battle with Jett Reynolds forced him back into second position. In the 125 B/C class, Miller was stuck in a battle for the podium while the leader got away, but his cunning racecraft allowed him to fight his way to a third place finish.
