1 DILAN SCHWARTZ >>
Like previously mentioned, slapping the word “Open” on any particular class, invites a swarming of competition into the limelight. As you’re throwing a set of certain rules or clauses out the window, and having a standard set that’s relatively unseen. And it could most defi- nitely be applied to that of the 250 Open class, where names like Schwartz, Kniffing, and Eigenmann would be in constant search for a title. And although the class may not have had the deepest drawing, in regards to numbers, what it lacked in quan- tity, it most certainly made up
for in quality. These riders were absolutely hauling, and wanted to walk away with plate more than anything; especially that
of Dilan Schwartz. No stranger to winning on the sport’s larg- est scale, he came into the race here in Ponca City hoping to walk away with sacks of gold, to match his new Suzuki ma- chine that is. And it would begin with the first moto of 250 open, where Schwartz holeshot would look to set the tone early. Kniff- ing, just behind him in second, watched in awe, as Schwartz through down a miraculous
one minute, forty-seven second laptime. He then would back it off a mere tad, but still charging hard enough to launch, triple, and scrub everything in sight.
A panic rev just before landing, would have the back wheel spin- ning and treading hard before impact. All seemed to be well,

until a mishap on the last lap, would offer up a near 12 second swing in the direction of Kniffing, who would take the lead. Schwartz, as disap- pointed as ever would finish second; but look to rebound when lining up for this class in the near future. For the second moto, he would flip the switch and never look back. A spec- tacular holeshot had all in attendance eyeing him, arguing if he was the fastest rider throughout the premises. Regardless, he was putting a lot of
the talk to rest, throwing down a one minute, thirty-eight second lap time. It was an exceptional effort, and as he pulled away from Colten Eigenmann, The scrubs and charismatic flare were in abundance, as it was much a joyride as it was a true pounding. He knew that staying up this time, would guarantee the title, so by all means he played it a bit safe on the last lap. And that’s just what he would do, tak- ing home a championship.
