Mason weathered it all, never once bobbling or showing any signs of fear. He would master this track with the utmost precision, and be one hundred percent confident, as his name and number would be called to load the run-off event starting grid. Bennick would head the field in the early going, with James Clough, Casey Cochran, and Mason fol- lowing suit. It was an all out drag out war between them, with Bennick showcasing his raw speed. But Mason wasn’t one to get discouraged, as he knew just who he had to beat, in order to secure a solid spot on the podium overall. His laptimes would hover in the low one fifty’s, as he was clearing everything on this track with ease, and meticulously carving out these ruts as they’d gotten deeper. Dragging the rear brake ever so slightly, he allowed his chassis to say soft and smooth, being as efficient as possible. The laps would continue to pass, and there Mason was, his slashed number gleaming bright amongst the stars
of the sport. His speed was downright awesome to watch, and paired with style, there weren’t many to rival him on the national circuit. Com- ing across the line in fourth, the running order would list as Bennick, Clough, Cochran, and Mason. His cumulative score would place him in an astounding second overall for the weekend.

The number 44 of Zayden Mason came into this treach- erous event as prepared as ever, knowing that he could be faced with all elements, and
all types of competition once rolling into the lush green grass of this facility. Seeing a track this manicured and dressed up, only made him yearn to suc- ceed, knowing that all of eyes media and sponsors would be upon him. Mason stormed onto the practice track for qualifica- tion purposes, and set the bar high. But he knew the real show would come once lining up be- hind the gate, and would let the field know early on, just who this Hazelton, Indiana native was.
Mason rocketed off the start, the back wheel smoking and leav- ing the whole field in a fanning motion, trying to riddle through the clouds in which his tired had left. It was 65cc phenom Dilon Blecha who was behind, but
he was the first to welcome the young champion to the party, showing him that the 85cc divi- sion was just a tad bit different.
