>> Taking a look from the fence lines of High Point Raceway, you’re quick to notice
the amount of drastic off cambers and tapering corners littered around the raceway. A constant sway of left and rights, riders have to literally always be on the edge of their seats. Jeremy Martin has practiced this technique, on these types of tracks, for numer- ous years. Even during his transition from the two-stroke minicycles, to the gargantuan motors of four-stroke full-sized machines, his style never wavered, constantly going back to his textbook etiquette. In practice, even the naked eye could see how his lines would differ from those in front of him, as he would hug the hay-bales of one corner, only to slingshot and square up the next. The inside of his tread on the front tire was beginning to wear down, but both he and the rubber were scorching with blistering speed. With practice coming to a conclusion, he would head back to the mechanics area, looking to swap a fresh pair of wheels, and eventually make his way back to the staging area. The rst moto was off, and he could be found pegging the 250f for all its might up the start straight. Navigating through the rst lap with his hesitance pushed to the background, timing and scoring would register him third. He and thought of complacency would simply repel one another, as although he found himself in the midst of battle, the ideas of climbing the stairway to the podium were running vividly throughout his mind. He would link up with Aaron Plessinger, after reeling in Justin Cooper, and the two would begin
to play a game of seesaw. Managing to pull on the latter half of the track, he could be found manualing up the roller section, just before the left-handed nish line corner. He would inch, and then by the time they would travel under the Fly racing banner in the middle of the track Martin could be found snif ng the fumes of Plessinger’s exhaust. A tedious battle, the two would ght until the bitter end, with Martin placing an astonishing second. The second round of racing saw him emerge with the lead on the rst lap, with a stack full of tearoff’s re ecting the sun’s rays. Pulling them one by one as he tried to blitz through the pack, he knew he would have to stay near a single digit nish, to cumulate
a top-ten overall. Scraping the left foot peg over the infamous “RC” tunnel jump at the top of the hill, he would eye the checkered ag, searching high and low for the secret combination. A rabid dog on the hunt for his prize, he would absolutely push the 250f to it’s limit; however nearing the halfway point, the bike would seize! In absolute disgust, he would fall to thirty-third. And now his overall would be tenth position.
