Iron Pony is currently one of the biggest powersports dealers in the country and one of the fastest growing as well. What are some business ideologies that you’ve stuck with throughout the years that have helped Iron Pony reach the
point that it has today? We want to have the newest, the best, and have the best people that understand the items that we sell and the items that we work with. I think we have a great brain trust
of people that are just dedicated to having the best knowledge on what tire you need for your bike, or how to fit helmets, how to fit apparel, or what apparel to have. We try at the very least in every area to have a good, better, best -- but fortunately with all the lines that we sell, a lot of the time we have four goods, five or six betters, and three or four bests. We really try to help people make the right decision. We’re family owned, family operated, and all of our team personnel away from the store are wearing Iron Pony shirts, hats, and socks. We make sure we do the right thing and although we’ve grown as a corporation, we try to keep those smaller core values. If you’ve got a genuine problem, give us an op- portunity to fix it and we will because we all want to be proud to wear the Iron Pony shirt and say that we work here. We’ve really, really strived to do that and I’m always reminded when I have to deal with a larger company -- I just had to deal with a return policy on something that I bought for my house and I got nothing but the run around and it took days, even weeks for just email responses. I tell all of our top team players that I never want a customer waiting that long. It doesn’t mean we’ll always be able to solve what somebody wants, but if we screwed something up then we’re gonna fix it. We’re a retailer, we’re open seven days a week and we try to maintain that mentality. We really appreciate all the shops around the country that aren’t open seven days a week, because I think early on that’s how we picked up a lot of customers.
