ARNAUD TONUS
Stuck with a resume full of potential winning seasons cut short by injuries, Arnaud Tonus has put together the first full season since 2011 when he was an MX2 contender overseas. Hailing from Geneva, Switzerland, Tonus is in his second year here in America and it’s still in the air how much longer he will be here. If you would have asked Mitch Payton last year, who knows what the answer would have been but this year, with the green #66 sitting 10th in points, the answer is most likely leaning a lot more towards a contract extension. In fact, Tonus has been inside the top 10 five out of the last seven rounds with the last two weeks coming a little bit harder than the prior weeks. With the two-week break seeming to have adverse effects on Tonus, he looks to improve upon his results for the final round in Indiana. As with most threats, if the Pro Circuit rider can explode off the gate, he’s a serious contender for a possible upset.
