MARVIN MUSQUIN
Marvin Musquin’s rookie season in the 450 class will go down as a huge success. The rider from France carried his smooth, consistent riding
from the 250 class
seamlessly to the 450s. Albeit in both supercross
and motocross seasons he initially struggled, he would eventually find his way towards the front and rack
up plenty of podiums. His supercross season actually started with a lot of struggle failing to finish better than ninth at four of the first five rounds. Many thought he
did not have what it takes
to battle up front on a 450
but all that changed when
he finally hit his stride mid season and began reeling off some stellar rides including Atlanta where he led Dungey all the way until the final lap. His motocross season started very similar with him failing
to finish better than eighth
at the first three rounds but he shook out the jitters and by midseason he asserted himself as the “third” guy behind Roczen and Tomac.
In many motos he would be the middleman between those two front runners and the rest of the field just not having enough speed to seriously contend for the win. So overall, Musquin’s first year
in the big boy class saw him make big strides towards the front and we will see if he can take one more big leap and steal a win at the finale this weekend in Indiana.
