>> What a stellar Saturday night for Texas’ young Carter Halpain. The num- ber 128 took Lazy E Arena by storm and was able to head home with not only one, but two Junior Moto X titles, as well as a third place podium finish. After an earlier 250 B Heat Moto win, Halpain was beaming with confidence as he flawlessly flowed in the 250 B Main Event. The beautiful blaze of orange Oklahoma dirt that filled the arena had both riders and spectators excited for another gate drop. The 250 B class was off and the intensity was high as Carter Halpain immediately found himself in the third place spot on the first lap of the moto. Quickly, Halpain was able to put the EBR Perfor- mance Yamaha machine into first place by the second lap and was also able to throw down an impressive 32.458 second lap time on the third lap. Lap by lap, Halpain was making it look easy; maintaining his momentum while dodging lapped riders. The blue rims on his Dunlop tires sparkled, complimenting a fresh set of Thor gear and some red-hot Alpinestar boots as he fluidly conquered the tenth and final lap on the arenacross style track littered with deepening ruts. Carter Halpain led the rest of the race and was able to breeze past the checkered flag with number 15 Levi Newby on the Kawasaki behind him in second, and fellow Texan Zane Merrett on the num- ber 29 KTM in third. Junior Moto X is an event specifically designed for up and coming youngsters to gain Supercross style experience and see where they stand among their top competitors. Carter Halpain definitely delivered and gained some shiny new hardware with his win in 250 B (14-18), 250 B Limited (14-18) and his third place finish in Schoolboy 2 (13-16) B-C. Carter Halpain will be one to watch this season.
