JESSE FLOCK
125 2 STROKE
IMAGE / PARADISE WORDS / MATTINGLY DESIGN / WILSON
>> This time of year in tornado alley can be treacherous; jet streams and weather patterns colliding in our countries center, creating an absolute recipe for disaster. You must be accustomed to, and prepared for a literal whirlwind of scenarios, as debris and catastrophic winds can create miles and miles of damage. Out of the field in which consisted of the 125 2 Stroke division, you know the one man who was ready, willing, and able to take on challenges of all sizes? That of Oklahoma’s own, Jesse Flock; a young man who’s been through storms of every kind, and will- ing to put his own on the field here in the Lazy E Arena. Rifling out of the hole, he charged into the first right-hander until the utter last millisecond, grabbing hold of the front brake with a full-grip. Hugging the haybales, he led the field around and took the opening flag to begin the heat race. He stayed consistent, never looking behind, and choosing the best lines as he was able, with hardly any lap traffic in front of him. With Palmer Neely nipping at his heels, he would shrug off the pres- sure from behind, remaining cool, calm, and collected; taking the win and first
gate pick for the runoff. The sirens were going off, the crowd ducking for cover as the field of 2-strokes sprayed the sandy roost all over the arena. A dust storm in itself, his visor was ducking, all the while keeping the throttle pinned as he clocked into third position for the opening laps of the main event. Making both outside and inside passes as he neared the yellow track markers; he just simply wanted it more. Jumping an extra few feet here and there, scrubbing doubles with a tad more preci- sion, and it reaping the benefits with sub 34-second laptimes. Closing in on the final laps, he had moved into second, chasing his ever so familiar foe of Palmer Neely. He lurked, and waited for the right time to strike. And as the white flag came, he knew he had to pounce. Launching onto the back of the KTM, the two wrestled for that ever-lasting piece of track, with Flock coming out on the receiving end of the deal. Charging extremely hard to the checkered flag, the sense of satisfaction he felt underneath the helmet couldn’t be replicated. All the hard work had paid off, and the trophy was his to take home, cementing his name on the top of the division.
