>> Fighting hard last weekend Eli Tomac made an impressive comeback at the end of the main event, but wasn’t able to get by the points leader Ryan Dungey. It wasn’t quite the finish Tomac was hoping for not gain-
ing any extra points on Dungey it was still a solid race for the Kawasaki rider. Not messing around in Toronto, Tomac qualified into the night in
first laying the fastest lap down. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider
flew out of the gate in his heat race and was forced to the outside of the first turn. Keeping it pinned he held onto second behind Jason Ander- son. It was only a second before he worked his way into the lead pass- ing Anderson through a rhythm section. Once that green machine made his way out front he never looked back gaining himself yet another heat race win. Knowing that the start of the race is key Tomac wasted no time jumping out of the gate after the thirty second board went down. Sitting behind Blake Bagget in the first turn, Tomac powered through a rhythm section gaining the momentum he needed to pass for first. Now that he was where he needed to be without having to fight his way there like last weekend, Tomac powered his way through the main event. Even though he was leading the race Tomac was racing as if someone was directly on his tail and was setting some of the fastest lap times proving that he is the man to beat. As the race neared its end Dungey was getting closer and closer but couldn’t quite get there. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider gained himself his fourth main event win for the 2017 season. Gaining a couple points on Dungey, Tomac moved his way into second for the points chase.
