>> Alex Martin is a force to be reckoned with in Supercross racing. Alex has emerged from the shadows of his champion brother and is going faster than ever in 2017. He inked a deal with Troy Lee KTM and looked to contend for the 2017 championship. Unfortunately a few weeks ago, things went south in a hurry at the opener in Minneapolis, but Alex was able to bounce back with an impressive 2nd place last weekend in Atlanta. He was ready to keep the ball rolling and looked to do just that, as he was very quick in practice
in Toronto. Alex lined up for 250 Heat 1 and got off to a great start when the gate dropped. Alex led the field going into the first corner but was pushed outside. He was able to make the best of it as he came out of the second corner in 2nd place. Alex began to challenge for the lead and was able to make a clean block pass for the lead quickly on Ferrandis. Alex then made
a small mistake through the whoops and was passed back. He regained his composure but Christian Craig was hot on his heels. Alex lost the spot to Christian and then continued to make mistakes as he lost two more posi- tions in two laps. Luckily, He would qualify and look to the Main for redemp- tion. When the final began, Alex jumped out to the front in typical fashion
and it seemed he would get another great start. As they came into the first turn, Alex was forced off the track but was able to re-enter safely before the second corner. He was running in about 8th as the first lap got underway. He was able to avoid the chaos up to the halfway point as he was still running 8th. Unfortunately, his luck ran out as the Toronto track got the best of him and he dropped three positions suddenly. He was then able to make the time back up quickly and was charging hard to make his way back into 10th place. Sadly, tonight was not his night as he hit the ground again late in the race. At this point, Alex was ready for the night to be over as he cruised to a 15th in Toronto.
