>> Juan Pablo Luzzardi snagged the holeshot ahead of Don- ny Brown and the first moto winner, Matthew Burkeen. Luz- zardi dropped back off the podium over the course of the first lap as the Yamaha duo of Brown and Burkeen worked their way into contention for moto win. The top 4 swapped places for a couple of laps with Brown holding steady at the head of the field. As the leaders came around to cross the finish line for the third time, Luzzardi had retaken the lead on his Su- zuki which put him in the position to also win the champion- ship. He was being chased down by Julio Zambrano on the Husqvarna as the two overall contenders began to drop the Yamahas and leave them behind in a trail of dust. The battle was on for the final lap as Luzzardi and Zambrano were only a couple of seconds apart, but the Husqvarna rider wasn’t able to find the necessary speed in order to steal away the victory and the championship. Luzzardi took the #1 plate with Zambrano and Burkeen rounding out the overall podium.
