>> The slums of Detroit can be categorized as some of the worst throughout
the United States of America. Not only are they filled with poverty, but there isn’t much a of a resurgent effort to revitalize the areas that are in need of a boost of morale. However, for the one weekend in which Supercross creeps into the cities limits, it feels as though many fans and natives of the city alike are boosted with a bit of enjoyment, as some of the world’s most talented athletes take flight in Motown. Marvin Musquin is an absolute fan favorite; he embodies all traits that
a professional should carry. Charisma, confidence, and a style that’s appealing as ever, it’s no wonder he’s been given exclusive contract after contract. Detroit was another place for him to take aim, and place himself amongst the best in the business. Wheel tapping his way over the tiny triple before the finish line, placing his tread of knobby just on the absolute tip of shiny soil composition, all before throwing the chassis of the bike to the right, as he would shave the footpeg up the takeoff. As the field chased after that illusive 51 second mark throughout
the evening, his qualifying finishes would place him in an optimum line to be
set up for the event that truly mattered, the main event. The lights were on, the Iphone’s were flashing, and the fans were on their freed, adrenaline pumping feverishly as the gate would crash into mother earth. The field would divebomb into turn number one, he would come out in the lead, setting him up perfectly for a run to dethrone the number 3. His smooth style was being portrayed perfectly on this slick course, the throttle control in optimum control, and his technique being found in the textbook; but he knew he had to push the pace to keep going forward. Unfortunately his luck would run out however, just a few laps in; as he would be overtaken by the green bean, and follow quickly in pursuit. He would do everything in his rhythmic power to stay just on the tale of the young Kawa- saki pilot, but all of his wheel tapping, power sliding, and body English antics were just short of claiming victory. He would go on to place second and a smile gleaming for the cameras, for all to see.
