>> The city of Detroit has been synonymous with fast cars and motors alike, for numerous amounts of years. A backbone of the United States of America, Ford Motor Company has been the heart of this Northern town, with the well-being of this institution instructing the local economy, when this company deteriorates, the city’s morale really goes to shambles. But you can tell, just by talking to anyone of their local citizens that they love the need for speed, and when Supercross comes to town the thrill is awakened yet again. It seemed as though Broc Tickle had the crowd’s attraction since the moment he laid tread on the surface for practice. He was laying the bike over on each and every jump he was capable of, shifting the hips, and trying his hardest to show off the drain plug to everyone in attendance. But don’t let the flashiness startle you, because every time he would come around, although appear- ing to be more in a best whip contest, he was laying down consistent time after time. And after qualifying solidly into the main event, it was time to replicate his success under the bright lights. The field would stampede into turn number one, bar banging, all the while trying to choose different lines, yet forcing themselves into the fastest groove of single track around the layout. Sorting themselves out through the opening rhythm sections, he had to remind himself to stay calm; inhaling through the nose, and exhaling all the while keeping the pace of the fastest in the world. They hit the dragon’s back, his jersey dangling in the wind, he was looking over at the top two digits competitors in the world to his left, and a crowd of fifty thousand in the stands. After laying down the fastest lap in practice, he knew he had the speed to withstand the push of the best in the nation; but he would have to lay his outdoor roots on
the wayside. Following a sixth place start, his simple style was allowing him to reel in the best of the best, such as Ryan Dungey and Josh Grant. He was all over the number one for quite a while, but could not seem to make the move. It was if he was holding his breath, and putting all of his effort into making the move; but it would come up short, and he was forced to regroup. He would fight diligently with the best, his elbows up technique paying dividends in the home state, but unfortunately the laptimes just weren’t registering like earlier in the day. He would fall to seventh, but look to rebound in the events that lay ahead.
