>> Detroit was good to Kissimmee Motorsports rider, Gannon Audette. Heading into the night show with his best qualifying practice result of the season had to be a confidence booster for the Tallahassee, Florida na- tive. Audette found himself in a stacked first heat race but he was able to finish in the seventh place spot, well within the top nine transfer spots. Af- ter not qualifying for the Main Event in Indianapolis last weekend, Audette sure is proving himself in Detroit with some vast improvements in results.
Ford Field was shaping up to be quite the challenge for riders
as they headed into the Main Event. The undeniably icy track conditions meant instantaneous adversity for even some of the most skilled racers. As the 250 riders lined up for what would be the 53rd race in Detroit,
the number 54 of Gannon Audette was certain in his capabilities as the thirty-second card went up. Audette was off to a fantastic start and found himself in sixth place right off the bat. Gannon held onto that sixth place spot until around the ten-minute mark, when Kyle Cunningham passed him. Soon after the pass by Cunningham, a determined Christian Craig was working his way through the pack when he made the pass on Au- dette for seventh. Gannon Audette stayed in the eighth place position for the remainder of the moto. What an impressive ride for Audette. Gannon Audette’s strong comeback after last weekend shows that he is a rider with true grit and an awesome spirit. Now that he’s proved himself, hope- fully Audette can build upon this and have another top ten finish in the Show Me State next weekend.
