>> The young Florida native Brock Papi was proving himself to be one of the fastest riders on the track all day long in Oklahoma. When Brock lined up for
the Schoolboy 2 Main, he was ready to prove he deserved to be near the front. As the gate dropped, Brock launched his Suzuki off the line with confidence. He demanded the lead and set a blistering pace for the rest of the field. After few challenges from other riders, Brock looked to run away with it, that is until the green flag did not wave but instead it was a RED flag. Due to a false start by another rider, the schoolboys were forced to go back to the gate and re rack. Brock was bummed to lose the lead but was determined to grab it again as the gate dropped for the second time. This time, Brock’s jump was not as perfectly executed as he was forced to round the first corner just inside the top ten. It was evident that he was NOT going to settle, as he was riding with an abundance of aggression throughout the first lap. By the time he made his way to the green flag, he was counted in 6th and was eager to make some more moves. His de- termination continued to pay off as he forced his way passed two more riders by the time the second lap began. Brock railed the outside of the next corner and used the momentum to slingshot his Suzuki to the inside of the second place rider, Tijero, going into the first corner. Tijero surrendered the position without a fight and Papi was on to his next victim, Haplain. He finally had the leader in his sights by lap four and suddenly a mistake by Haplain made it easy for Brock.
He took the lead with a sense of relief and was determined to finish what he started. He was then forced to navigate the abundance of lappers, but was able to ride smart and get through them as fast as he could. The riders behind him began to creep up due to the lappers and he answered back with the fastest 3 laps of the race. His consistency and determination paid off and he was the first to see the checkered flag.
