>> After making his pro debut earlier this year, Chase Sexton has been making a name for himself. Riddled with injuries or the past year, he has been keeping it on two wheels, consistent and smooth. Heading into round 10 at Unadilla,
the Geico Honda rider was sitting 14th in points even after missing the first three rounds of the season. Qualifying 14th for the day, the track was looking good and so was the Geico Honda rider. Getting a decent jump out of the gate, Sexton was right around 9th through the first turn charging hard to maintain his position. He quickly made a pass into 8th place, where he stayed for a good portion of the moto. Right around the half way point, he made another pass into 7th place. Staying smooth, the young rookie finished off the first moto in 7th. Due to some inclement weather conditions, the second moto was delayed and cut short, so by the time the moto rolled around Sexton was nice and rested before the gate drop. Now that the track was underwater, it wasn’t a usual charge out of the gate, but it was a smart and careful one for the Geico Honda rider leaving him around 7th on the first lap. Unfortunately, the muddy condi- tions got the best of the rookie sending him back to 16th on the second lap of
a very short moto. With a lot of spots to make up and not the usual amount
of time Chase had some work to do. He kept the bike on two wheels for the remainder of the moto and was able to steal back a couple of positions. Going 7-12 for the day, the Geico Honda rider grabbed himself a well-deserved 9th overall finish.
