>> Staying consistent all season it has been a rare occurrence to see Colt Nichols out of the top ten. With only a handful of finishes below 9th, the Star Racing/ Yamalube/ Rockstar Yamaha has been putting in the hard work,
and it has been showing. Qualifying for round 10 at Unadilla went well for Colt Nichols as he headed into the motos as the 8th fastest rider. Putting
the power to the ground out of the gate, his Yamaha hooked up on the tacky Unadilla dirt sending him into the first turn right around 10th place. He moved up to 9th right away where he rode for several laps as he chased down the riders in front of him. Then a string of small, but costly mistakes sent Nichols back several positions to 12th. As time began to run out, the Yamaha rider found some speed and made a pass back to 11th where he finished off the first moto. After waiting around for the second moto to start due to a weather delay, Nichols was nice and rested before the second gate drop. Once it was finally time to race the track was flooded, and it was going to be tricky. The first real mud race of the season none of the riders had much practice in such harsh conditions. Staying smart, Nichols slowly charged out of the gate as
he avoided sliding out into the first turn. Nichols was sitting up around 11th place, where there were just enough riders ahead of him to make it tough visually each lap. Nichols was able to snag a few more spots up to 9th before the end of the short moto. Going 11-9 for the day the Star Racing/ Yamalube/ Rockstar Yamaha rider finished off round 10 with an 11th overall.
