>> Very few days in our country’s history such as Memorial Day, the so-called “start of summer” and a time for us to remember our fallen heroes. It can bring a sense of rejuvenation, as the woes of Supercross have long gone, and we are beginning on are voyage of the outdoor journey. The temperatures begin to rise, the freon of air conditioned stadium’s is a distant memory; it’s about tough, rugged, pure athleticism and who’s willing to endure the toughest of roads to secure the title at the end. Dean Wilson was riding for both the American fans, and those of his native United Kingdom, ready to solidify as to why he received his factory deal. A seventh place start in moto one, had him just behind Bogle, but he would leapfrog both he and rookie Justin Hoeft on lap two. His signature, lanky, soaring style, he was launching the finish line with a charismatic scrub, and tap of the rear brake, looking to sit the Husqvarna down in the perfect spot. He would hold onto fifth for quite sometime, but eventually be overtaken by the likes of Jason Anderson and Eli Tomac. No shame in that, as he would still fight strong with the best, holding off the likes of Blake Baggett, to receive the sixth place position by motos end. The second round, saw a less than ideal start for the number 15, coming across the line in 14th to begin the moto. Wheeltap- ping past riders left and right, the shirt tail dangling at all times, he was really beginning to find his groove, especially in the corner after Mt. St. Helen; as he was carrying so much momentum, he was categorized as a white blur. Pushing forward each and every lap, the former 250 champion just wouldn’t quit, mak- ing sure everyone knew who he was by race end; his efforts would be rewarded with a solid 7th place, and spectacular 4th overall!
