>> Jon Ames of BPR MX, Home Depot, Yamaha racing is currently sitting back in 23rd in the points chase of the 250 West coast. Never quite able to break into the top ten with a best finish of 12th place, Ames has been putting in the work throughout the break. Ames is looking to improve his results during these last few rounds to finish the season off strong. Qualifying 9th into the night-show
for Seattle, things were looking promising for the Yamaha racer. Getting a great gate pick for his heat race Ames charged hard out of the gate putting him right into 8th on the first lap. Riding good until a mistake cost him big sending him all the way back to 19th. With no time left in the heat race Ames had no choice but to move onto the last chance qualifier. Wasting no time to put himself out front he got the holeshot in the LCQ. With all his focus on getting into that main event he rode a strong race, finishing off in first securing his transfer spot. After a little scare of having to race the LCQ, Ames was lined up for the main and ready to go. Getting a great jump out of the gate he was right in the mix of things sitting midpack around the first turn. By the third lap he moved up to 10th passing Josh Hansen. He stayed in that position for several laps until he got passed by Justin Hoeft sending him back to 11th and by the end of the race he would find him- self losing another position pushing him back to 12th. Not quite the comeback the BPR MX, Home Depot, Yamaha racing rider was looking for, yet it was still equal to his best finish of the season.
