Zach Osborne’s day started off well in SoCal as he posted the 6th fastest time in the first practice of the day. He came in 7th fastest overall and went into the motos confident and ready to put in two solid motos. By the time the gate dropped for 250 moto one, Zach had not figured out his holeshot methods as he got off to a typical top twenty start. He had his work cut out for him but began passing guys immediately. He was slicing and dicing, dodging roost, and was able to slide by many riders in the following laps. He found himself sitting 14th with a little over halfway to go. Zach then found some speed deep within and was able to get past four more riders in the next five minutes and was sitting an incredible 10th position with about six laps to go. By the time the checkers were out, Zach was able to make up two more positions and take 8th place. In the second moto, Zach got off to another poor start and was running 16th on lap two. Zach started to make his climb as the laps went on and was running just over a second behind 10th place, Cianciarulo. Zach was able to make the pass on Adam. He wasn’t done yet as he made some more moves in the last couple laps of the moto and was able to pick up two more positions. He would finish 8-8 for 8th overall at Glen Helen. Zach’s performances were very impressive and if he can get a good start he could most definitely be a contender in the rounds to come.
