JUSTIN COOPER
Justin Cooper was initially planning
on making his professional debut with the Cycle Trader/Rock River Yamaha team after the week of racing at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Unfortunately, motorcycle racing can be a cruel sport that bears no consideration for the agenda of those who compete. Cooper suffered a first turn crash in his very first moto of the week at the Dude Ranch and was subsequently run
over by a couple of riders; he suffered a concussion, a broken wrist, and a partially collapsed lung that would put him off the bike for approximately a month. All of the preparation and hard work was taken away in a split second, and he no longer had the opportunity to back up the two championships he
won the year prior. His chance to make
his professional debut at Unadilla was gone. Approximately a month later, Cooper showed up at the Baja Brawl with only one thing on his mind -- redemption. He signed up to race all three Pro/Am classes as well as the 450 A class.
