In the final Schoolboy 2 moto, Mashburn mistimed the gate and subsequently crashed just past the first corner, giving himself a mountain to climb throughout the race. He fought his way to a 9th place finish, still salvaging 2nd overall with a 1st and a 2nd in the other two motos. Although he had the misfortune of an 11th place finish in the 250 B class, he still managed to earn a 5th place overall by earning 2nd in the other motos
behind Kawasaki’s Garrett Marchbanks. The 250 B Limited class was a cake walk for the Troy Lee Designs KTM rider as he marched on to three out of three moto victories relatively unscathed. The way that the Texan commanded
his bike around the track made it look as if he’s been racing on the 250 for years, but in actuality this was one of his first races on the machine. It’s a scary thought for his competitors that he’s only going to get more and more comfortable
on the bike, especially after putting in some hard training days between races with former AX Champion, Kyle Regal. Mashburn will be a force to be reckoned with on the 250 by the time he’s ready to head to Ponca City in early October, and he’ll be looking to go out with a bang in the Schoolboy class as well.
