>> It was another solid weekend for Kyle Chisholm as he left Salt Lake City with his fourth consecutive top 10 finish. Chisholm has been doing a privateer effort for the past few years, thankfully for him the SmarTop Motoconcepts crew put him on their team for this season. The team has been competing in the circuit for a number of years and has fielding many riders but in the last few seasons they have only competed in the premier class. In 2017 the SmarTop crew fielded an- other 250 effort. Since Kyle has been competing for in the 450 class for a num- ber of years he had to ask permission from the AMA to race the small bore class once again. Once granted permission Chizz was able to secure a ride with the SmarTop team to race the 250 class in the West Coast division. When the series was in the East Coast Kyle decided to race the 450 class as a privateer effort. The 450 class is unbelievably stacked this season and Kyle struggled to perform the way he would’ve liked to. Even though the #11 is one of the biggest guys in the AMA he seems to fit in better in the 250 class as far as results go. The Valrico FL Native had an all around good weekend at round 8 of the west coast series. He finished 9th in qualifying and had a good gate pick for his heat race. Being one of the bigger guys Kyle has struggled to get a great start but after coming around the first corner in 7th it was all about smart clean laps. At the end of lap one, Chizz made his way to 5th but already lost touch with the front runners. Chisholm got a below mid pack start in the main event and battled with Tyler Bowers the entire race as they made their way inside of the top 10. It looked as if Kyle had 8th place on lock until Mellross made his way through in the late stages of the race. The supercross veteran settled for 9th and is currently holding down 8th position in the championship standings with one round remaining.
