>> Greye Tate and Caleb Carter rocketed out of the gate to an exceptional start as the two of them banged bars in the first cor- ner. The KTM of Carter was able to grab the advantage ahead of the Kawasaki rider, but there wasn’t much of a speed difference between the two. Carter was able to carry a little bit more momen- tum through the air, flowing through the rhythm sections, as Tate’s strong suit was the corners. Carter eventually found his flow a couple of laps into the race as he began to disappear at the front
of the field inch by inch. Meanwhile, Tate was coming under pres- sure from the #735 machine of Tristan Lewis. The two of them were fender to fender for multiple laps in succession, but Tate was able to hold firmly on to second position by using inside lines and defen- sive racing in order to maintain second position. Carter continued to plug away at the front of the pack, keeping it smooth and consistent as he effortlessly flowed through each passing section. Although
he sports a very nonchalant riding style that may be decieving, he was flying from the gate drop to the checkered flag as he eventually crossed the line with a healthy gap over second place. Carter’s key to success was his aggressive riding after grabbing the holeshot as he really laid it down in the opening rhythm section, providing him- self a sizable gap from the get-go and allowing him to focus on his own race.
