65CC (7-9)

>> The 65s screamed down the start straightaway as the action got underway and it was the the Cobra of Drew Adams who grabbed the holeshot. He found himself in a heated battle with the KTM of Tyler Cole almost immediately throughout the opening lap as the duo swapped lines, looking to gain an advantage on one another. Cole began to really put pressure on the Cobra of Adams on the first flying lap, using a creative line around the outside of the second corner to set up a pass through the second rhythm section. The Flo- ridian was able to carry more momentum through the section which allowed him to pull alongside of the Cobra and make the pass before the ensuing corner. From that point onward, Cole slowly in- creased his gap in the lead and forced Adams to step up the pace. They found their way in the midst of lap traffic with only a couple
of laps to go, but the both of them were able to navigate their way through the slower riders with veteran experience. Both of the riders were only separated by half of a section on the final lap, but it was too little too late as Cole did exactly what he needed to do in order to make his way to the checkered flag first, taking an exceptional win in one of the most epic battles of the day.
