DREW ADAMS
51CC LIMITED (7-8)
IMAGE / MPG WORDS / KILPATRICK DESIGN / WILSON
>> The last 51cc race was set for action and when the gate dropped it was the Cobra machine of Drew Adams that found him- self in the early lead. Adams appeared as though he was fired out of a cannon on the opening lap as he took advantage of the riders behind him slowing one another up. He was able to clear all of the jumps and ride a clean lap, subsequently accumulating a massive lead over Mikah Carpenter only a couple of laps into the race. The two Cobra riders proved themselves to be the class of the field in
all of the 51cc classes, but Adams appeared to be on another level in this particular affair. He worked both the outside and inside lines, wherever he was able to carry his momentum and find a clear track, as it wasn’t long before he found himself battling through lapped traffic. With only two laps to go, Adams and Carpenter reached a gaggle of lapped traffic which allowed the gap to close a bit leading into the white flag lap, but the Cobra rider in the lead was not at all phased by the lappers. He stayed smooth and consistent and rolled his way past the checkered flag to take another main event victory and cap off a perfect weekend in the Georgia Dome.
