>> The Milestone Assassin has made all of the main events thus fair in the season except for one at round 2. Unfortu- nately Nick has only managed 19th place finishes in his main event appearances. Making the final is the goal for Nick but repeating that finish must be frustrating and after qualify-
ing 19th it was looking like he might be finishing there once again. Nick was put into a stacked heat race and came out in 10th. While back in the pits Schmidt did the best he could to calm the nerves and prepare for the semi, hoping to stay out of the last chance qualifier. The #75 did what he needed to and got a top 5 start in his semi and took the final transfer to the main. When the 450 riders rounded out the first turn Schmidt found himself in the familiar 19th place position but was eager to place better. Battling tooth and nail all 20 + minutes of the race with riders like Weimer, Ray, Clason and others Schmidt was able to get 16th. This is his best finish of the year. Schmidt was far back from 15th but with momen- tum on his side he may be able to crack the top 15 as soon as round 6.
