>> The journey of a professional motocross racer is most certainly a road less traveled when compared to other sports. Each and every weekend of their lives is spent traveling to some remote location around the country, and even the globe at times, all in an attempt to garner solid results to fluff their re- sume. The end goal? A pristine factory contract that is becom- ing somewhat of a rarity in this sport. Millsaps secured a child- hood dream of his own, and is taking the opportunity he’s been given, and sprinting away with it; he knows that tomorrow this deal isn’t promised, and while he has the ability, he will truly
do all he can. Oakland was a prime example of this, following the start, he had scurried into the top five, looking to assert himself in the championship. He did just that, battling with the likes of Cole Seely, Blake Baggett, and Jason Anderson. His style, that of balls on the feet, sternum over the barpad, and
his head looking forward, allowed his tall frame to really seat into the outrageously large grooves in each bowl turn; the sand section also seemed to allow him to generate time, as he would choose to stand on the balls of his feet, rather than lug the mo- tor and sit on the seat. Fighting every inch of the way, DM18 would come up just one position shy of Seely for the top 5. He will look to build off of this pivotal race in the series, hoping to prove his worth yet again.
