 “Road Atlanta was tough on us this year,” Beaubier said. “I had three crashes throughout the weekend including the  rst race. I went into race two without a ton of con dence but ended up feeling okay through the race. I am happy to  nish the weekend salvaging some points and plan to hit the ‘refresh’ button for
the next race at COTA!”

fter a crash at the start of Saturday’s race and a
ninth-place  nish, two-time MotoAmerica Superbike
Champion Cameron Beaubier kept his focus on
important series points and rode smart in Sunday’s
shortened eighteen lap Superbike race. As the
green  ag waved, he got off to a great second place
start and swapped podium positions through the
 rst six laps. By lap seven, Beaubier had situated
Monster Energy/Yamaha Extended Service/Graves/Yamaha’s JD Beach emerged from the opening round with a positive all- around performance to kick off the 2018 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Beach quali ed on pole, claimed victory in the opening race on Saturday, and then followed it up with a second- place performance in race two on Sunday. Beach continued his streak of great starts when the action got underway in a torrentially wet Supersport race two on Sunday, and he maintained the lead for the  rst four laps. On lap four, Rickdiculous Racing’s Hayden Gillim made a strong pass on his R6, and the duo rode all the way to the checkered  ag in  rst and second place, respectively. After swapping race wins on both Saturday and Sunday, the Yamaha duo are both tied as they wait for the third round of the MotoAmerica Championship to commence at VIR. >>
