The first start of the 2016 supercross season saw Short on the ground before he even made it to the first turn. The crash sent the BTO Sports KTM rider to the semi to try to
qualify for the night’s show. The first turn was much more forgiving to Short this next time, as he ran a comfort- able pace in fourth place to punch his ticket into the main event.
Jumping into a series after a handful of races is always a recipe for struggle. Short was outside the top ten in twelth place after the first few corners. He managed to find the old comfortable feeling of racing and passed Jake Weimer for 11th place. Andrew not racing this season showed as he dropped back down to 14th place where he finished out the night. Finishing out his first race back with a solid result is a victory in itself.
